Job description

Are you looking for a job where two of the most fascinating briefs in government collide? Whether it’s through engagement at the UN, delivering through the European Space Agency, developing exciting bilateral opportunities and much more, space is an inherently international endeavour – and we want you to be part of it! You will join the International Strategy team in the Space Directorate, a small and agile team working across a broad international brief to deliver the UK’s National Space Strategy with an emphasis on international collaboration. You will lead an area of international strategy development, helping to promote the UK’s ambitions in Space. You will work across government to align government priorities for international space. This role supports the Multilateral Strategy and Future Partnerships Manager and will see you taking on a leadership role of either International Space Diplomacy, International Space Science or International Space Capabilities.

Key responsibilities

Leading on an area of international strategy focusing on bilateral and multilateral engagement and collaboration.
Working closely across government departments, particularly UKSA, DBT, FCDO and MoD, supporting the development of a framework for collaboration with international partners.
Providing input into briefings related to international space policy and engagement.
Forging highly effective working relationships across the Space Directorate and into wider DSIT priority policy areas, not limited to Quantum, AI, the Science and Innovation Network, Telecoms etc.
Contributing to securing international agreements via senior level participation and expert input from UKSA.
Supporting the organisation at international fora and events (together with UKSA, DBT and FCDO).
Coordinating of Government-to-Government engagement on civil space with some of our priority international partners.
Supporting DBT to set priorities for Space in international trade deals, partnerships and Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) and exports.

Office attendance
